On 24th February 2010 in Kokshetau UNDP representatives met with a head of energy engineering and community facilities board of Akmola region Alexandr Martynenko. National Project Manager of UNDP/GEF project "Kazakhstan - wind energy market development initiative" A. Sospanova, public relations specialist M.Kassen and advisor of UNDP Department of Environment and Energy V. Baygazina represented the UN Development Programme at the meeting.

The Wind Energy Project Steering Committee has been convened in Astana
On February 12th, 2010 a regular meeting of the Steering Committee of the project “Kazakhstan – wind energy market development initiative” was convened. The event was held in the Ministry of energy and mineral resources. The main issue is report on realization of the project and plans for 2010.

Kazakhstan and China activate cooperation in wind power development, vice minister of energy and mineral resources of Kazakhstan Duyssenbay Turganov
«In particular, issues on further development of renewable energy were considered in the meeting. Chinese party offered its gratuitous help in delivery of solar panels and wind turbine to Kazakhstan. We are obliged in return to give technical parameters for the installations. This issue is very urgent for us», - Mr Turganov said.

On November 27, 2009 a meeting with a representative of Spanish company Eolium from Planificaciones Mundiales Group, director of renewable power projects R.Ramirez was held in Almaty office of the PROON/GEF project “Kazakhstan - the development of wind energy market initiative”. The company is specialized in the field of wind power plants installations.
